Midwife Needed in California

Certified Nurse-Midwife Needed – California Central Coast Region
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks; potential ongoing need

Schedule

Full-time clinical coverage
4 clinic days per week
Day shifts, 10 hours (7:00a–7:00p)
Additional hospital coverage approximately 10 shifts per month
No NICU coverage

Practice Details

Acute care hospital and outpatient clinic setting
Combination of outpatient OB clinic and inpatient labor and delivery coverage
Support staff on site
EMR system utilized for documentation

Clinical Scope

Provide outpatient prenatal and OB patient visits in clinic setting
Provide hospital coverage for OB triage and laboring patients
Evaluate, monitor, and manage labor and delivery patients within scope of practice
Document all patient encounters in EMR
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure appropriate patient care
Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and state regulations
Participate in standard clinical workflows and patient care coordination

Requirements

Certified Nurse-Midwife
Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program
Active California license required at time of submission
Ability to provide both clinic and hospital coverage
Experience with EMR systems preferred
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently and within a team

Credentialing

Standard credentialing timeframe applies
Submission must include active license and supporting credentials

Location

Located in the California Central Coast region, offering a mix of outpatient clinic and hospital-based OB care within a structured schedule and collaborative clinical environment.
