Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider for locum tenens coverage in Wausau, WI

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for locum tenens coverage in Wausau, WI. This position offers ongoing weekday and weekend coverage with competitive pay and full travel accommodations.

Description:

• Coverage needed daily 6am–6pm (end time may vary) with 1:3 weekend coverage.
• Responsibilities include rounding with the surgeon, performing vein harvesting as needed, first assisting in the OR, and completing procedures such as A-lines, central lines, thoracentesis, and chest tube placements (if within skillset).
• During weekday hours, the NP/PA will assist with patient care pages and new consults as needed. On weekends, rounding with the surgeon will occur on Saturday and Sunday mornings. After rounds, orders, and notes are completed, providers are not required to remain in-house but must be available to return for emergencies or additional patient needs.
• The CT surgeon currently takes all first calls (nights/weekends).

Requirements:

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
• Proficiency in vein harvesting and inpatient rounding preferred
