NP/PA Cardiothoracic Surgery- Tacoma Washington

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery provider to work locum shifts in Tacoma Washington (WA). Starting in April 2026, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

Cardiothoracic role:

• Schedule: M-F 3-4 days calls & a 1:4 weekend call. Hours are variable, but in general. M-F Schedule is mostly 0700-1500, but it is not shift work, some days may go beyond.
• If the Provider is on call the hours for that day would likely be 10-12+ hours.
• Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 6--8+ hours per weekend day.
• Call days include carrying a pager for 24 hours.
• Setting: Inpatient
• Assist with pre and post operative patient evaluation and treatment
• OR First assist
• VATS and DaVinci Robot Thoracic Procedures
• Cases- 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/week
• EMR: Epic
• Dealbreakers: Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases are robotics)

Requirements of the Cardiothoracic role:

• WA state license; active, unrestricted- will also consider IMLC in hand
• Board certified
• Certifications- BLS, ACLS, AANP
• 3 years of experience- CV/CT surgery experience
• DEA
• Clean Malpractice
