Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Locum Tenens Opportunity in Lansing, Michigan

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant) for a Cardiovascular Surgery rounding role in Lansing, Michigan. Starting in February 2026, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits. This opportunity supports both cardiac and vascular surgery services in a collaborative, high-acuity Level 1 Trauma Center setting.

Assignment Details:

• Location: Lansing, MI
• Setting: Inpatient Cardiovascular Surgery (CVICU, CVSU, Vascular floors)
• Schedule: 4-day, 10-hour shifts
• Call: 1 in 4 weeks (first call from home)
• Weekends: 1 weekend per month (independent coverage)
• EMR: Epic
• Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center

Patient Volume:

• Average 15 patients/day
• CVICU: 2–8 patients/day
• CVSU: 2–5 patients/day (includes discharges)
• Vascular: 4–10 patients/day

Responsibilities Include:

• Daily rounding on cardiac and vascular surgery patients
• CVICU and step-down patient management
• Care coordination and discharge planning
• Consults and floor coverage
• Independent weekend coverage as scheduled
• Collaborating closely with cardiac and vascular surgeons and multidisciplinary team
