Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage in Lexington, Kentucky (KY). Starting as soon as credentialed, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

Details:

• Inpatient and Operating Room Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery coverage

• First assist required for coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and thoracotomy with lung resection

• Responsibilities include vein harvesting, chest tube placement, intensive care unit and telemetry management, and inpatient rounding

• Call coverage one to two days per week and one weekend per month

• Weekend call schedule Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM

• PRN coverage with ongoing vacation and provider gap support

• Coverage dates include May 31 – June 13 and July 20 – July 26; critical coverage June 6 – June 8

• Support role for surgeons within an established surgical program

Requirements:

• Active Kentucky license

• Ability to perform required Cardiovascular and Thoracic procedures independently

• Clean malpractice history required
