We are currently looking for a Part Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team and provide on-site care at the Berks County Jail in Leesport, PA.
This position requires 16 hours per week of on-site medical care. Monday-Friday during normal business hours (i.e., ~8:00a - 4:30p).

Job Description:
- Provide service to the inmate/patient population while utilizing current, acceptable standards of medical/MAT practice.
- Assume responsibility for clinical management of the MAT (medication assisted treatment) program in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards, as well as PCM policies and procedures.
- Services to be provided on scheduled workdays according to standards and times mutually agreeable to physician, facility administration, and PCM.
- Provide virtual consults/visits to MAT patients located within multiple PrimeCare facilities throughout the state of Pennsylvania, for purposes of managing detox withdrawal/tapers & ongoing MAT medication prescribing/management.
- Provide MAT consultation to all professionals (i.e., physicians/nursing) within the unit(s).
- Provide consultation & support to all medical physicians and mid-level providers in West Virginia with respect to clinical MAT services provided.
- Ensure complete, accurate and timely documentation entries are made for each inmate/patient contact.
- Available for consultation and/or emergency MAT coverage via phone only on-call support.
- Work collaboratively and supervise clinical MAT activities of fellow physicians and medical staff while on duty.
- Evaluate all inmates/patients referred with MAT concerns for presence, or absence, of mental illness and refer to mental health accordingly.
- Refer inmates/patients as necessary to appropriate outpatient/inpatient substance abuse facilities when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacy to evaluate and approve all medications and other medicinal preparations, which comprise the facility formulary.
- Establish and monitor standards of care provided by physicians, mid-level providers and nurses in accordance with NCCHC/ACA and accepted MAT standards.
This position is exciting and fast paced, and as such we must have someone who is able to multi-task well and has excellent time management skills. They must also have the ability to work independently and be comfortable with making patient diagnosis on their own.
