Start Date: 02/23/2026
Contract Length: 6 mo, option to extend
Shift Details: variable 12-hour shifts including weekends, days, nights, & holidays
Must be able to provide 50% night or weekend coverage with availability
Options for night and weekend call, although not guaranteed.
Work Details:
• Support staff: 2 teams, each with: 1 attending, 3 NP, 1 fellow
• Overnight there’s 1 attending, 2 NPs
• Amount of coverage needed per month: Minimum 4 12-hour shifts
• Patients per day: 17-18
• Patient population/age: Majority peds, neonatal(8 beds), 8% of total population is adult congenital
• Department description:
• 350 surgical cases/year
• Majority of patients are surgical
• Patients include: a significant heart failure population, patients on vents, patients who are pre & post op, patients with cardiac catheterization, many patients on ECMO, many pre-post op transplant patients
Experience with ecmo preferred
• EMR: epic
• Hospital bed size: 18
• Special procedures:
• APPs may do IVs & arterial lines, could intubate or central lines
• Most procedures done by fellow or attending
• Skills required:
• Must be comfortable in PCICU inpatient setting, working with neonatals all the way up to adult populations. Must have knowledge of general cardiovascular critical care, particularly peds, exp managing ECMO/CRRT/Bags.
• Team player, flexible, willing to work nights and weekends, good communication

Requirements:
• Board Certification: CPNP-AC;
• License required: CA
• NP MUST have CA license
• PA can submit without a CA license
• DEA: Yes, CA with schedule 2
• Certifications required: PALS, BLS
• Minimum experience required:
• 1 years of PCICU(no surgery, no stepdown, must be experienced with pediatric cardiovascular critical care)
• Exp with heart failure would be a plus, although not required
Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
Interview Expectations (how many?): Probably 2 interviews, 1 with manager and 1 with Med Director
