Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for College of Nursing students in the nursing major including preparation of content, assignments, and evaluation of student clinical and academic progress. Interacts with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and to promote quality-nursing care for patients. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the College of Nursings total educational programs. Acts as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Masters degree with a major in nursing (MS or MSN) and specialization as adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. At least 2 years experience in clinical nursing as required by the Illinois department of professional regulation and 1 year experience as a adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications: evidence of official enrollment in doctoral program. Previous teaching experience, preferably in a baccalaureate nursing program. Licensure/certification: licensure in Illinois as a registered professional nurse (RN), licensure in Illinois as an Advanced Practice Registered nurse (APRN), certification in population specific focus-adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. Other skills/knowledge: communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to student learning.
