Job Description
Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – Emergency Medicine (Acute Care Hospital)
Target Start Date: April 7, 2026
Contract Length: 3–6 month assignment (potential extension)
Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours, no call
Shift Structure & Expectations:
Day, night, and weekend shifts
Typical schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (flexible)
Full-time coverage needed across rotating shifts
EMR: Meditech
Practice Details
Setting:
Emergency Department within an acute care hospital
Patient Population:
All adult emergency medicine presentations
Variable acuity depending on ED flow and census
Support:
Full ED and hospital support staff
Collaborative environment; autonomous practice expected
Clinical Responsibilities Include:
Evaluation and management of emergency department patients
Independent assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within APP EM scope
Ordering and interpreting diagnostics
Coordination with attending physicians and ED team
Expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
Role: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Emergency Medicine)
Experience: Prior EM experience strongly preferred
License: Active Florida license required (not willing to license)
Board Certification: Required
Credentialing Timeframe: ~90 days
Additional Requirement: Must live within 50 miles of the facility
