Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (1099 Contract)

About Us
Trusted Medical, PLLC, an affiliate of Edera, supports the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other federal partners by providing disability evaluations, separation health assessments, and occupational health services nationwide.
We are seeking Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our growing team serving Veterans and government healthcare programs.
Position Summary
Providers perform in-person clinical evaluations for VA disability claims and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs). This is an evaluation-only role with no treatment or ongoing patient management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person VA disability examinations
- Perform focused physical exams (musculoskeletal, neurological, etc.)
- Complete DBQs accurately and within required timelines
- Review medical records and document findings
- Support occupational health services as needed
- Maintain professionalism and compliance with all guidelines
Schedule
- 1099 contract role
- Monday–Friday only
- No weekends or holidays
- Up to 40 hours/week based on demand
Required Qualifications
- Active NP or PA license (Family or Adult)
- Licensure in one or more: AK, AZ, AR, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SD, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV, WY
- Master’s degree in NP or PA program
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years in primary care, internal medicine, or occupational medicine
- Experience with VA disability exams or federal healthcare systems
Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and professionalism
- Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office
Compensation
Hourly rate based on experience, credentials, and location.
