Immediate Needs in Richmond, VA

Sumo Medical Staffing is looking for an NP/PA to provide coverage 3 days a week in Richmond, VA. The setting is an Urgent Care Clinic and needing multiple providers to cover 36 hrs a week.

Urgent Care Details:

Start Date - October 12, 2026 ongoing

Clinic open 7 days a week

Need 3 days per week

Shifts are 8am to 8pm (12 hrs)

All ages

Average # of Patients Per Day: varies by clinic, but can be anywhere from 25 to 50 per day, higher as we approach cold & flu season

Trauma Level Designation: episodic events, higher acuity will be sent for higher level of care (ED. ER, etc.)

Required Duties, Procedures, Skills, etc: Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling, Incision and drainage (I&D): including packing, Foreign Body Removal, Minor Burn Management, Skin Lesion Care, Orthopedic & Injury Stabilization, Splinting & Casting, Joint Reduction, Diagnostic & Point-of-Care Testing, X-Ray Interpretation, Electrocardiogram (EKG): Evaluation, Point-of-Care Lab Interpretation: Reviewing rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing, Epistaxis Management: Anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate) for nosebleeds, Cerumen impaction removal, Airway Support: Administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization

EMR/Documentation: Epic

Requirements:

Board Certified

Active VA license

Active BLS

Active DEA

At least 1 year of experience in an ED/ER. primary care, or urgent care setting

Clean background/no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions

Minor procedures, (listed above)
