Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Primary Care Job Overview:

  • Assigned to the Primary Care Department. The HCW shall provide services within the scope of their competencies and clinical privileges as granted by the Commanding Officer, and the applicable duties provided in the basic contract, and the following:
  • Perform phone triage based on accepted protocols and assist as needed in accessing appropriate ambulatory/emergency care for beneficiaries.
  • Provide individual, group, and family/significant other counseling and health teaching in relation to the patient's condition and his/her ability for self-care.
  • Formulate a health care plan for clinic patients emphasizing self-care responsibility through the participation of the patient, family, physician and other health care professionals.
  • Provide assessment education and management of family planning.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Primary Care Job Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • 1 year of full-time experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory setting within the preceding two (2) years.
  • Obtain and maintain Radiation Health Indoctrination Certification, and will assist with the performance of radiation health and special duty physicals.
  • Master's degree in nursing
  • Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the ACEN or CCNE.
  • Certification: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse. Any state.

Position contingent on contract award with an anticipated Fall 2019 start state.
