Locums NP/PA Hospitalist Position in Coastal North Carolina

• Date of coverage: ASAP-ongoing (6-8 weeks minimum)
• Days and nights available
• 150 Beds
• Day Shift 7am-7pm 3 physician and 1 mid-level (NP- will round and admit patients)
  • Day shift duties: There are 4 providers on the day team…3 MD’s 1 APP. There is no designated admitter. The 3 MD’s rotate the responsibility of being the lead hospitalist WOWO. That physician accepts all calls from the ED and then delegates admissions to ensure a fair distribution. The APP accepts admissions but is not part of the regular rotation. It is just up to the discretion of the lead Physician on when to pass an admission to them.
• Average census is around 45-50 with about 10-12 admission within a 24hr period
• Will round on Critical Care patients
• There is no Critical Care physician on staff. Must do Vent management
• Patient encounters per shift: 12-18
• Average admits on the night shift: 5-8
  • Night shift duties: Admissions and floor coverage when called with issues that arise
• Limited pulmonology, limited nephrology, limited neurology. 24hr access to surgery, anesthesia, and oncology subspecialty backup available
• Primary Code Responders- Hospitalists respond to all non-ER codes
