Position Overview
A highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is needed for a night-shift assignment within a Level IV NICU at an academic medical center. This role involves caring for critically ill neonates, including extremely low-birth-weight infants, infants with birth trauma or asphyxia, and those requiring urgent surgical intervention.
Note: NNPs will not manage ECMO patients, but full NICU procedural competency is required for credentialing.
Job Responsibilities
Perform all required NICU procedures, including:
Neonatal resuscitation
Intubation
Surfactant administration
Line placements (UAC, UVC, PAL, PICC)
Needle thoracentesis
Chest tube insertion
Lumbar puncture
Exchange transfusion
Collaborate with neonatologists and the NICU care team
Deliver evidence-based care within an academic teaching environment
Qualifications
Active state license (no licensing assistance available)
AHA-certified PALS and BLS
NRP certification required
Minimum 2 years of NNP experience
Credentialing timeframe: 30–45 days

Shifts: 3×12-hour shifts per week (full-time need)
Estimated Shifts per Month: 4–5
