Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - Denver, Colorado
High-Acuity NICU • 24-Hour Shifts • Flexible Monthly Schedule
The Opportunity
Join a high-performing Level III NICU team delivering critical care to vulnerable newborns. This locum assignment offers flexible monthly scheduling, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
Assignment Details
- Location: Denver, Colorado
- Start Date: June 2026
- Duration: June - July 2026 (potential for extension)
- Schedule:
- 24-hour shifts
- 3–5 shifts per month (targeting 4 - 5 shifts/month)
- Setting: Inpatient Level III NICU (no ECMO, no cardiac)

What You’ll Do
- Provide neonatal care for premature infants (28–30 weeks gestation) and other NICU patients
- Manage 16–18 patients per day in a Level III NICU
- Participate in delivery coverage (NICU team attends ~10–12 deliveries/day)
- Cover overnight shifts independently with neonatologist on call and pediatric resident support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality neonatal care
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and care coordination
Requirements
- Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
- Active Colorado medical license (required at submission)
- Experience in Level III NICU settings
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Flu vaccination required
