Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – West Georgia
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time (16- and 24-Hour Shifts avail)
Location: West Georgia, this position is located about 45 miles West of the Atlanta area, near the Alabama Border (Local Residency or Relocation Required)
Setting: 10-Bed Level III NICU & 20-Bed Newborn Nursery
Position Overview
A recognized health system is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join a collaborative clinical team in west Georgia. Operating within a modern, newly renovated hospital facility, this role provides advanced care for high-acuity newborns in a 10-bed Level III NICU, while also supporting daily coverage for a busy 20-bed newborn nursery serving a growing community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage care for high-acuity newborns requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.
  • Provide daily NNP coverage and assessments within a 20-bed newborn nursery.
  • Collaborate closely with neonatologists and multidisciplinary hospital teams.
  • Deliver comprehensive neonatal assessments, stabilization, and discharge planning.
  • Work a structured shift schedule including 16- and 24-hour shifts.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (MSN).
  • Current APRN national specialty certification (NNP).
  • Neonatology training/fellowship (Strict requirement, no exemptions).
  • Active Georgia medical license, or willingness to obtain (Highly Preferred).
  • Active DEA license (Required prior to start date).
  • Recent NPDB Self-Query Report (within 30 days active) required for presentation.
  • Clean malpractice and licensing history is highly preferred.
  • Visa Status: No visa sponsorship available (J1/H1B candidates cannot be accepted).
  • Candidate Type: Permanent applicants only (Locums candidates not accepted).
