Public Health Nurse Practitioner (1099)
Pay rate: $70.00 per hour (1099)
Temp : 13 weeks
Facility: Wyandotte County Public Health Department
Location: 619 Ann Ave, Kansas City, KS, 66101
Work Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00 pm, Late clinic every Wednesday 8:30am to 6:00pm last scheduled appointment time.
Job Description
- The Unified Government Public Health Department is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Personal Health Services Division, with a primary focus on Family Planning/Well Woman services.
- This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, client-centered reproductive health care.
- Key duties include performing physical assessments including sports/work physicals and limited acute care services, providing routine gynecological care including pelvic/breast exams and colposcopy services (training available), prescribing medications, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within the scope of the clinic setting. The Nurse Practitioner will also contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures and provide patient education on a range of health topics, including pregnancy options counseling.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License.
- Must have an active and unencumbered license and be licensed as an APRN/NP to practice Nursing in the state of Kansas.
- Experience in reproductive health (family planning, OB/GYN, or women’s health)Title X knowledge is a plus.
- Must be able to work with a diverse client population, work with multidisciplinary teams, exercise judgment and refer clients as needed.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus and/or willingness to utilize interpreting services.
- BLS certification.
