Job Description
Oncology Nurse Practitioner needed in Purchase, NY (PERM OPENING)
FT schedule (35 hours)
Develops, implements, and tracks patient education efforts as it relates to chemotherapy, blood replacement products, growth factors as well as psychosocial concerns of patients, family and caretakers related to diagnosis of Cancer and the underlying disease.
Collaborates with the Infusion Center nurses and staff in the care and treatment of patients receiving chemotherapy/blood products, growth factors, and supportive care.
Completes patient's history and physical exams, review laboratory results and order appropriate tests, provide discharge instructions and patient education, and monitor follow-up appointments.
Obtains consent, and monitors pre and post procedure status of patients.
Develops care plans for patients; and documents history, orders, notes and ongoing evaluation of patients.
Assures quality of care and standards are maintained; participates in daily rounds; and serve as liaison to referring physicians and external transfers.
Assists physicians with related duties as directed.
Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned.
2 years of experience in Oncology medicine required
APN, NY license, BLS, DEA and COVID Vaccine required
