Facility Overview

This 127-bed Level III Trauma Center is the largest hospital on Oregon’s Southern Coast, serving a regional population of over 320,000. The hospital provides a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient services and is home to a comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with OHSU’s Knight Cancer Network. Its newly expanded facilities include a 19-chair infusion room, on-site pharmacy, radiation oncology, and dedicated nurse navigators.

Role Overview

  • Full-time, four 10-hour day shifts

  • No nights or weekends

  • Paid call shared equally

  • Primarily outpatient with occasional inpatient consults

  • Works in a collaborative oncology team including two Oncologists and one NP Locum

  • Affiliated with OHSU and part of the Knight Cancer Network

  • Procedures include chemotherapy oversight, patient evaluations, symptom management, survivorship care

  • Works closely with nurse infusion team, pharmacists, radiation oncology, and patient navigators

  • Functions independently with support from a highly collaborative team

Scope of Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care for oncology patients across the continuum of care

  • Conduct new patient assessments, follow-ups, and consults

  • Manage symptoms, adjust treatment plans, and educate patients

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and support staff

  • Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and care coordination

  • Participate in oncology-specific education and quality initiatives

  • May engage in clinical trials, survivorship planning, and cancer support programs
