Orthopedic APP (NP or PA) Needed in Texas
Target Start Date: June 1, 2026
Contract Length: 6-week assignment (locum tenens), potential extension
Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours — no call
Shift Structure & Expectations:
3×12 schedule
Night shifts: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Full-time inpatient orthopedic coverage
No weekends noted in listing

Practice Details
Setting:
Inpatient orthopedic service within a hospital-affiliated clinic
Reason for Opening:
Coverage needed for APP going on maternity leave
Support & Responsibilities:
Rounding on inpatient orthopedic patients
Seeing orthopedic consults in the hospital
Collaborating with the orthopedic provider on call
Must have a clean malpractice and disciplinary background
Preference for local candidates
Credentialing Timeframe: ~130 days
Clinical Scope
Inpatient rounding on post-operative and acute orthopedic patients
Performing orthopedic consult evaluations
Communicating consult findings with attending/provider on call
Nighttime inpatient coverage in an orthopedic setting
No outpatient clinic responsibilities indicated
Requirements
Role: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Orthopedics
Experience: Orthopedic background required
License: Active Texas license required (not willing to license)
Certifications: Not specified
Skills Required:
Independent orthopedic inpatient management
Ability to assess and manage consults at night
Strong communication with on-call providers
