Orthopedic Surgery APP Needed in Arizona
Target Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13-week assignment, ongoing need
Schedule
Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours — no call
Shift Structure & Expectations:
Monday–Friday
7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (8-hour day shift)
Clinic and hospital coverage
EMR: Medhost
Practice Details
Setting:
Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient orthopedic care
Acute care hospital environment
Support Staff:
1 RN
3 MAs
Patient Volumes:
Clinic: ~5–8 patients per day
Inpatient: rounding + consults
Department Focus:
Orthopedic care with emphasis on knees, hips, and shoulders
Both inpatient and outpatient coverage
Work Expectations:
First assist capabilities required
Provide orthopedic consults
Manage inpatient orthopedic patients
Full-time schedule with goal start timeline of ~2 weeks
Hospital Size: ~80 beds
Credentialing Timeframe: 3–5 days
Clinical Scope
Orthopedic first assist in OR as needed
Outpatient orthopedic clinic coverage
Inpatient rounding on orthopedic patients
Evaluating and managing orthopedic consults
Focus on common joint cases: knees, hips, shoulders
Requirements
Role: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery
Board Certification: Required
License: Active Arizona license or IMLC accepted
DEA: Required
Experience: Orthopedic background required
Skills Required:
First assist experience
Independent management of outpatient and inpatient orthopedic cases
Evaluation and documentation of consults
Location
Bullhead City, Arizona — Orthopedic surgery support within a regional acute care hospital; combination of inpatient and clinic responsibilities.
