Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

MedAdventures is looking for an Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant to join our partner's full-time team in Northern Central Iowa.

This is a DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY for a New Behavioral Health Center!

Key Responsibilities for the Psychiatry NP/PA:

• Performs all duties under the direction and supervision of physician(s) of the department and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Elicits medical history and conducts physical exam on patients to provide health assessment and screen for abnormal conditions.
• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats medical and surgical problems in accordance with department protocols and records the same for review by the supervising physician(s).

Key Requirements for the Psychiatry NP/PA:

• New grads welcome – experience preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, assessment of patient condition, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and standard treatment protocols at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited physician assistant.
• Current state license
• National certification or eligible to sit for next exam. .
• Approximately one to two years work experience in order to become technically proficient in reviewing patient data to evaluate current condition and to gain familiarity with Clinic and hospital environment and Clinic policies and procedures.

Compensation and Schedule:

• Compensation Package:
• Starting at 100k salary, plus call pay and production bonus structure. Total comp potential = $147k
• Commencement bonus + relocation + CME

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday + Friday 8:00-9:30 staffing then off 10am. Can use time to catch up on documentation.
• Call 1:3- require physician to be back-up for all APP call.
• Average Patient Volumes: 10-15 patients per day
• Patient Ages: 12 beds for child and 22 for adults
• Inpatient/outpatient mix- Inpatient 8a-930a then at 10am they begin seeing outpatient. Sometimes this is done from their office for the offsite visits. Some travel required for outreach site
