Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment teams and work collaboratively with other disciplines in planning for the treatment of their patients which include children, adolescents, and adults Assess the clinical appropriateness of admissions and collaborate with the referral and intake department. Work with attending psychiatrists in caring for inpatients and perform psychiatric assessments and provide ongoing care Provide individual therapy and/or medication management as needed for patients under their care Complete all documentation requirements legibly and within appropriate timeframes Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards. Qualifications of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: Two years of psychiatric inpatient clinical experience required as a PMHNP Must be licensed as a PMHNP Must be licensed as an NP in NC or show proof of application DEA required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Compensation and Schedule: Pay starts at $46 an hour, plus RVU and generous additional pay for admits and nocturnal call Monday - Friday schedule (8A - 5P) with some (paid) call
