New PMHNP Opportunity in IA

Sumo Medical Staffing is looking for an experienced PMHNP to provide locum coverage in Davenport, IA. This need starts ASAP for at least three to six months.

Schedule:

• Full Time - 20-22 shifts per month
• Clinic Days: Monday - Friday and one weekend per month
• Call is 1:3 during the day (8a-5p)
• 1:4 call at night (5p-8a)
• One weekend per month

Details:

• Round on adults and adolescents (ages 8-17) on our BH units
• (three units in the same location for a total of 36 beds - 28 adult; 8 adolescent) with one other APP and a psychiatrist.
• Call is 1:3 during the day (8a-5p) which consists of taking calls from the Mercy One Genesis EDs for admissions and seeing consults (average of 2 per day) at Genesis East.
• 1:4 call at night (5p-8a) and 1:4 weekends.
• Number of Phyisicians: 3
• Number of APP's: 7
• Number of Exam Rooms per Provider: Zero - patients are seen in their rooms
• 36 bed inpatient practice for patients 8+
• Supervising Physician present during assignment: Yes, Psychiatrists supervise and co-sign notes of APPs
• Nursing Support: 1:5 nursing ratio on unit, 1:13 for behavioral health techs
• Ancillary Staff per Provider: Recreational therapists, social workers, UM nurse, and discharge planners
• EMR: Cerner but moiving to EPIC 9/26/2026
• Mecial Imaging: yes
• Lab: yes
• Pharmacy: yes
• Clinic Daily Volume: ADC: 14 adults; 4 adolescents
• Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 18
• Practice Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health, Hospital Consults
• Average number of patients per day: 10-15
• Appointment Length: average 3-5 days
• Patient Population/Demographics: BH patients that require inpatient hospitalization.
• Teaching Opportunity: Nursing students, OT students, and Family Medicine residents are on the unit.
• Collaborative team, experienced nurses
• Level III Trauma
• Credentialing Timeframe: 30-90 days

Requirements

• IA License at time of presentation
• Board Certified PMHNP
• At least one year of experience in a similar setting
