LOCUM Cardiac Surgery APP *129925: South, Pennsylvania Practice: Boards: Graduate of an accredited CRNP program (must be certified in one of the following: ACNP, ACNPC-AG, or AGACNP) or an accredited PA program Certs: ACLS License: Must have a PA license Creds: 60 days Minimum Experience: 2+ years within the last 3 years Coverage: Estimated shifts/month: 12 Start: August 18, 2025 Duration: Ongoing Coverage: Days and Nights (7 am - 7 pm, 7 pm - 7 am) Required Procedures: Radial Art and Central Lines | No Surgical Experience Necessary Typical Cases: AVR, MVR, CABG, Ascending aorta, ECMO Adults: 100% Candidates Typical Day: Daily rounding on cardiac ICU patients, consults Day shift: Census of 6-10 patients on average in the CTICU Night shift: Responsible for in-house overnight coverage of CTICU/Post-op Unit/ER - No outpatient calls Experience in airway management, central and arterial line cannulation, and ultrasound preferred Other Job Notes: Admissions and consultation of patients directed to the cardiac surgery service Actively co-manages critically ill post-op patients, including ventilator management, initiation and management of vasoactive medications, management of IABP/ECMO, arrhythmias, bleeding disorders, and other cardiac disorders Serves as a role model of professional practice by serving as a recognized leader in clinical expertise and evidence-based practice Demonstrates highly developed clinical assessment and analytic tools Actively supports continuous learning in the clinical area by sharing research and materials from professional organizations Present in a clinical setting Identifies opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement. Leads teams to launch innovations in patient care Incorporates acceptable standards of practice as well as health system goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction of the patient experience Ability to articulate and translate the patient's condition to care providers Willingness to make recommendations for changes in patient care and clinical practices.
