(Archived) Director of Skills Lab & Simulation pre-licensure Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (pl-ABSN) and Full Time Faculty

Responsibilities of all University of Massachusetts Global full-time faculty hired at the rank of Assistant Professor, include: teaching, mentoring and service. Research activities are supported, but not required. We offer competitive salaries with generous benefits. This full-time faculty is required to live within a sensible travel distance from the San Diego campus.
The ideal candidate will have:

• Unrestricted California (CA) RN and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or is eligible for licensure
• Graduate degree in Nursing (Masters of Science in Nursing degree or higher)
• Minimum of two years current/recent experience teaching in pre-licensure registered nursing programs (ADN or BSN), to include nursing skills lab and simulation management/coordination.
• Experience with academic technologies and application of evidence into clinical practice.

Preferred qualifications include:

• NLN Certification as Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE cl)
• Experience with distance learning, academic technologies and application of evidence into clinical practice

• Prior approval as a CA Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) faculty, with working knowledge of CA BRN rules and regulations

Responsibilities:

• Oversees simulation exercises using low, mid and high-fidelity human patient simulators.
• Oversees the maintenance of a clean, fully equipped nursing skills and simulation lab, to include upkeep and maintenance schedules.
• Supervises pl-ABSN Skills Lab and Simulation Manager
• Oversees ordering and maintaining inventory of all lab supplies and equipment.
• Recommends purchases of lab equipment and supplies.
• Maintains flexible hours (evenings and Saturdays) as needed.
• Teaching and mentoring pl-ABSN students in pre-licensure fundamentals
• Develops and prepares skills lab demonstrations and simulated learning activities in coordination with the Lead Course Faculty that meet BRN requirements.
• Participates in on-campus Immersive learning sessions, student teaching and faculty meetings
• Other duties as assigned
