Job Title: Director of Facilities

Shift: Varies – Full-time leadership role
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday with accountability for 24/7 facility operations. Holiday coverage not required.
Duration: Permanent placement
Experience Requirements: Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience. Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC, general building maintenance, autoclaving, bio-waste, life safety codes, construction phasing, and environmental services operations. Acute care hospital facility experience required. Ability to systemically apply engineering principles and detect/repair malfunctioning equipment or systems.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
- Must be willing to relocate to a rural area
- Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, local building and fire codes required
Start Date Statement: Start date is typically within approximately 2 weeks after offer acceptance and completion of onboarding/credentialing requirements.
Job Summary: Seeking a full-time Director of Facilities to manage and lead all functions within Plant Operations, Environmental Services EVS, and Grounds for an acute care hospital. Role provides direct and indirect supervision of approximately 45 FTEs across Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental Services divisions.
Important Notes: - Direct maintenance activities on utility systems including heat, steam, electric power, gas, oxygen for facility operation and patient care
- Inspect equipment to ensure preventative maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and best standards
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies: NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, local building and fire codes
- Manage outside contractors and act as liaison with departments to assess needs and develop action plans
- Set staff expectations, develop training plans, and follow up on customer/employee concerns
