Position Purpose
All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Reporting directly to the CNO/ACNO, the incumbent works alongside a skilled team and advanced technologies at Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC). The Director will be supported by the OR Charge Nurse, Pre-op/PACU Lead, circulating RNs, First Assistants, Scrubs and more. We employ national surgical safety standards, which include stringent protocols for providing a safe, comfortable, and successful patient experience. The Nurse Director of Surgical Services will oversee a multispecialty department that provides care to a mix of patients including those requiring general, orthopedic, vascular, inpatient/outpatient surgery, and more in a 6 suite OR with 2 Endo suites and a Cysto suite. The OR Unit prides itself on having a highly educated and talented team who collaborate well together, like a well-oiled machine. |

- Responsible for development of a healthy work environment through nursing leadership skills and functions that include clinical, operational, and financial effectiveness

- Assures compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Must have a clear understanding of healthcare dynamics, trends, and quality measures
Qualifications [Statements regarding minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, military service, required certifications, etc.]
Education: Bachelor’s degree of Nursing
- Master of Science in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
Licensure: Current, valid Arizona RN license
Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at hire, PALS within 30 days of hire; ACLS within 3 months of hir
Competency: EKG within 3 months of hire
Experience: 7+ yrs as Registered Nurse in surgical services and 3 yrs clinical leadership in related nursing specialty
Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multi-lingual, master’s degree)]
- BSN preferred.
- CNOR preferred.

- Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs.
- Able to care for patients with infectious diseases.
- Ability to sit for 3-5 hours per day.
- Able to stand for 3-5 hours per day.
- Ability to walk for 3-5 hours day.
