Position Overview:
The NICU Nurse Manager will provide 24/7 operational leadership over a highly skilled Level III NICU team. This role reports directly to the Nursing Director of Women, Infants, and Children and plays a key role in ensuring clinical quality, regulatory readiness, and ongoing performance improvement initiatives. You’ll mentor clinical leaders, support bedside staff, and collaborate closely with the NICU Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily NICU operations, staffing, acuity-based scheduling, and departmental productivity

  • Mentor clinical managers, resource nurses, and front-line staff

  • Monitor compliance with Title 22, CDPH, CCS, and The Joint Commission

  • Conduct patient-family rounding and ensure an exceptional care experience

  • Manage performance reviews, training, competencies, and regulatory documentation

  • Lead department quality improvement projects and operational committees

  • Collaborate with administrative and physician leadership on strategic priorities

  • Support unit financials, capital equipment needs, and supply chain activities

  • Provide direct patient care or assist with emergencies as needed
