Behavioral Health Nurse Manager

Location: Onsite in Brooklyn, NY

Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Pay Range: Minimum: $145,000 & Maximum: $160,000

Job Summary:

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Implement hospital policies, regulatory codes, and procedures in the department.
• Manage unit operations in collaboration with the Director.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary performance improvement activities.
• Prepare data for regulatory agencies and compliance standards.
• Oversee admissions, discharges, and clinical management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
• Participate in continuing education and implement best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, math, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement processes and tools in healthcare settings.
• Competence in leadership, budgeting, and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to meet regulatory requirements and stay current with trends.

Education:

Required: Graduate of accredited Nursing school with a BSN.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Licensed and registered as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification.
• Crisis Management certification (PMCS, TRUST).

Experience: Minimum 2 years of formal experience working with children aged six weeks to six years.

MUST HAVE: Experience managing a psychiatric unit in a hospital.
