Director, Perioperative Services, Detroit, MI

Our client has an immediate opening for a senior level Director of Perioperative Services. The incumbent in this role will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, and indirectly to the Administrative Director. The Director of Perioperative Services assumes leadership responsibility for the services, functions and processes in Perioperative Services.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in nursing, Business, Health Care Administration or related field. Of two degrees, one must be in Nursing.
• 7 years progressively more responsible clinical experience which may be concurrent clinical and/or progressively more responsible management experience
• Valid RN license in the state of Michigan

• Anticipate and resolve a broad range of issues and concerns on multiple, sometimes unrelated topics to determine the need for process development and refinement.
• Stellar leadership skills that demonstrate a willingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing levels of accountability, comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and counseling skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with contacts both internally and externally and obtain critical information based on strong knowledge of departmental practices, programs and policies.
• Broad technical knowledge of the administration and operations of healthcare facilities, and functions including human, legal, technological and customer aspects of the delivery of care.
• Excellent project management skills, including the demonstrated ability to define program, project or process objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, fiscal and technological resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner
