Requirements

JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE:

The primary responsibilities of the Skills Lab Faculty are to oversee instruction for their simulation course in an innovative manner, provide input into overall curriculum development, have excellent and open communication with the team, and utilize course and survey data to improve the outcomes and student proficiency. The incumbent may be floated to the various areas of the simulation center according to the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Accurately calculate and report student performance and attendance in a timely manner

· Maintain evidence of professional growth including membership and participation in professional organizations, continuing education, concurrent related practice experience, educational research, and an awareness of current practice standards

· Attend staff meetings, pinning, graduation, and other college events

· Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities to enhance the teaching-learning process and provide evidence of participation to the HR Generalist

· Assist in compilation of statistical data and other information as requested for accreditation and other organizational needs

· Utilize instructional methods that accommodate various learning modes of students

· Identify and remediate behavioral and academic deficiencies

· Obtain and maintain certification in the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) as a provider and as an instructor

· May be required to substitute for other simulation courses or skills labs

· Submit suggestions and supportive data for improving curriculum

· Maintain integrity of curricular offerings

· Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

License: Registered Nurse in the State of Utah (Required)

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required); Doctoral Degree in Nursing (Preferred)

Experience: 2-3 years of skills lab instruction (Preferred)

Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Instructor (Required after 6 months of employment); ACLS and PALS Certification depending upon specialty (Preferred)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Location: Draper

Employment Status: Part Time

Hours of Employment: Mon-Sat, Up to 30 hrs/week with occasional Evenings

Position Type: Non-Exempt
