Charge Nurse – Wound Care (RN) | Full-Time
Porterville, CA (On-Site)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $48.80 – $68.31 per hour (DOE)
Setting: Hospital-Based Wound Care Center (via Welltech Partners)
Bonus: Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus (for candidates with 3+ years RN experience)
About the Opportunity
Partnering with a leading hospital in Porterville, CA to hire an experienced Charge Nurse – Wound Care (RN).
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about wound care, patient outcomes, and team development. In this role, you will oversee the daily clinical operations of a specialized wound care center while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Position Overview
The Charge Nurse – Wound Care is responsible for coordinating clinical activities within the Wound Care Center, including patient care delivery, staff supervision, and quality improvement initiatives.
You will serve as both a clinical expert and team leader, ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Patient Population
- Adult and geriatric patients
- Interaction with physicians, staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and oversee comprehensive wound care management, including patient assessments, treatments, and education
- Perform and support Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) assessments and operations as needed
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of clinical staff (RNs, LVNs, etc.)
- Collaborate with physicians, program leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Lead performance improvement initiatives (PIP) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, TJC, CDPH)
- Support staff development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback
- Assist in achieving program goals, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely communication across care teams
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care (Required)
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience (Required)
- BSN preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Certifications
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- National certification in a related field (to be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Demonstrated competency in infection control, safety, and clinical standards
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work occasional holidays, weekends, on-call, and emergency situations
- Commitment to compliance, ethical standards, and reporting responsibilities
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment with moderate physical activity (standing, walking, patient interaction)
