Description
Assesses, plans, implements or delegates, and evaluates total nursing care for the assigned unit in accordance with established philosophy. Delegates nursing responsibilities of the unit to the Charge Nurses as appropriate. Responsible for orientation, training, and management of personnel. Ensures adequate, cost-effective staffing is maintained to deliver safe patient care. Relates effectively with all shifts for continuity of care. Maintains satisfactory relations with other departments, medical staff and nursing units. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures and skills of personnel. Communicates effectively with Shift Managers, Nursing Managers and CNO. Involved in all aspects of nursing care as necessary.
