Seeking a Full Time Surgical Services RN (OR RN) to join a great team in Western Arizona!
Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented Surgical RN to join our perioperative team. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing specialized nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be accountable for the quality of care delivered within the surgical suite, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes through clinical expertise and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Surgical Assessment: Perform comprehensive pre- and post-operative assessments, including reviews of patient history, physicals, and laboratory data; immediately report abnormal results to the surgical team.
- Clinical Implementation: Execute the plan of care based on physician orders and surgical standards, ensuring strict compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Care Coordination: Communicate accurately with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and seamless transitions for the patient.
- Documentation & Evaluation: Maintain precise, timely, and legible records of nursing interventions and patient responses; evaluate progress toward realistic, measurable recovery goals.
- Professional Leadership: Participate in shared leadership, support the orientation of new personnel, and contribute to national nursing quality indicators and best evidence-based practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- License: Current, valid RN license in the State of Arizona (or Compact/Multi-State license).
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a surgical or clinical area is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
- Interview: Must demonstrate the specific training and education necessary for surgical nursing during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Professional certification (e.g., CNOR or CPAN).
- Additional related surgical education or experience.
