JOB DESCRIPTION:
Director of Surgical Services
The right candidate will is responsible for providing the administrative management and delivery of high quality nursing care in multiple surgical departments on a 24-hour basis. My client has more than 3500 In-pt., 2500 Out-pt. and 3500 Endo cases annually. Duties are as follows:
• Prepare and monitor departmental budgets and is responsible for financial accountability on all of assigned units.
• Establish and implement unit goals. Acts as a liaison between nursing and the medical staff.
• Establish and maintain communication between surgical services departments and ancillary departments for the purposes of problem solving.
• Update and maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and environmental and infection control standards.
• Develop organizational structure; select, train, orient and provide overall supervision of assigned personnel; develop, recommend and implement operating procedures, system and policies; review and evaluate performance and recommend personnel actions such as merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions.
• Assure compliance with all regulatory requirements including all state, federal, DHEC, CMS and TJC regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSN; MSN preferred
and
5 years of surgical clinical experience to include 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity
