Job Details:

Clinical Appeals Nurse will be responsible for drafting, finalizing, and sending clinical appeal letters in order to reverse a denial for payment on an insurance claim

Review account specifics, evaluate how to follow-up with the payer on the denied claim

Use provided tools and patient medical records, working within and through the regulations to develop a documented response to the denial and overturn the payer's decision.

Responsible for appealing other various denials using clinical based rationale

Stay current with assigned accounts and follow-up on the appeal after submission

Requirements:

3+ years of denials, appeals, at least 1+ years of writing clinical appeals letters in the payer/provider space

Background in UM/CM in an acute care setting

Medical record experience, ability to write a strong appeal

EMR experience – Meditech/Epic preferred The main systems sed are Epic, Cerner/powerchart, Filenet, Healthplanet and Aria

Can be Licensed anywhere

Must have own computer and be willing to install citrix and zoom. Will provide a headset
