(Archived) Diabestes Nurse-RN (CDE) Travel contract

Critical and Analytical Thinking:
• Collaborates with the MFMA MD on patient management needs.
• Completes the outpatient diabetes assessment using knowledge of nursing theory.
• Evaluates educational needs and abilities based on assessment.
• Evaluates outpatient educational needs.
• Evaluates inpatient educational needs prior to discharge from the hospital
• Collaborates with health care team to design a plan of care.
• Anticipates and formulates appropriate teaching strategy in an individualized consultation setting.
• Reviews new laboratory results, procedure reports, and consultations. Notifies MFMA MD if results are out of the patient’s normal range. Arranges appropriate medical therapy under the guidance of the MFMA MD.
• Refills medications as requested as well as initiate new prescriptions as written by the MFMA MD following the SPMF Standardized Procedure.
