Job Description
Currently working with a hospital in Glens Falls, NY to assist with coverage for an RN position in ICU - Neonatal (NICU) / Special Care Nurse with a start date of 02/16/2023. Please find additional details regarding the opportunity below.
Job Description:
- 13 Weeks
- Nights (12hrs) 7p-7a; 36hrs/week
- On-Call TBD
- Weekends TBD
- Snuggery (Maternity Care)
- 10 bed unit
- Provides IV therapy including antibiotics, oxygen therapy including hi-flow and CPAP, management of NAS with morphine, and stabilization of neonates requiring transport to Level 3 NICU
- Provides support for high-risk deliveries including neonatal resuscitation in conjunction with respiratory therapy and pediatric providers.
- The Nursery has oversight by pediatric hospitalist program including full-time neonatal nurse practitioner with extensive NICU experience
- Over 50% of the nursing staff have Level 2 or 3 NICU experience
Requirements:
The SCN RN is responsible for stabilizing newborn at delivery, preterm care, NOWS newborns, unstable glucose and collaborating with the team. We have a level 1 SCN, caring for newborns greater than 35 weeks' gestation.
- 2+ years of current SCN or NICU experience
- BSN preferred
- Previous travel preferred
- Critical that the RN can stabilize at delivery
Certification Requirements:
- NRP
- BLS (AHA)
License:
- New York
