Job Description
Mount Sinai, a world-renowned health system in New York City, is looking for a full-time ICU nurse with 1-3 years of related experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records
- Ensure that patient progress is reflected in progress notes and the revised care plans
- Discharge planning consistent with the patient status that reflects inter-departmental and inter-agency communication
- Communicate information to the patient based on the patient's level of awareness and readiness to learn
- Support orientation of new staff members by observing professional behaviors, providing feedback and by acting as a preceptor, role model resource
- Patient care assignments reflecting an awareness of patient needs, strong patient communication skills, and skill level of personnel
- Collaboratively meet patient needs through nursing actions and communication to relevant leadership
- Assume accountability and responsibility for completion and quality of assigned tasks
- Strong teamwork skills in communication with nursing leadership
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or active matriculation in a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Program
- Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials
- Minimum 1 year ICU nursing experience, OR 2 years Stepdown nursing, OR Telemetry RN experience
- Licensed and currently registered or otherwise duly authorized RN in New York State
- BLS/BCLS and ACLS certification
- 1-2 years of experience working in an inpatient or hospital setting
- 1-3 years of inpatient acute care experience
- CCRN and CNOR licenses preferred
