Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency / Acute Care
Specialty/Department: Nursing – Emergency Room
Location: Wrangell, AK 99929
Job Type: Permanent Full Time
Shift: Nights, Full Time
Schedule: Night shift. Holiday coverage not required.
Duration: Permanent placement
Experience Requirements: Less than 1 year required. Acute care, emergency department, and/or long-term care experience preferred. New grads considered. Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions during shift required.
License/Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing: BSN, ADN, or Diploma
  • Current full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or other U.S. state required. Direct hire must have applied for Alaska RN license before start date
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained biannually
  • TNCC certification preferred; required for ED nurses
  • Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years
  • High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and annually
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
    Start Date Statement: Start date is typically within approximately 2 weeks after offer acceptance and completion of onboarding/credentialing requirements.
    Job Summary: The RN coordinates and performs nursing care for patients of all ages in emergency and acute care settings. Provides total nursing activities, supervises CNAs/Techs, develops and maintains nursing standards, assists with policies and care plans, ensures patient safety, and maintains compliance with infection control and regulatory standards. Makes independent clinical decisions during shift and reacts calmly in emergent situations.
