Job Title: Nurse Manager – Emergency Room (ER)

Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week, Monday–Friday, Onsite
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
Start Date: Typical start date is within approximately 2 weeks after offer acceptance and completion of onboarding/credentialing requirements.

Compensation

  • Estimated Weekly Gross Pay: $3,001
  • Weekly Taxable: $1,636
  • Weekly Non-Taxable: $1,365
  • Hourly Taxable Rate: $40.90
  • Estimated Blended Rate: $75.03/hr
  • Overtime Rate: $61.35/hr

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive clinical and administrative nursing experience required
  • Prior Emergency Department leadership or management experience preferred

License & Certification Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN License required
  • ACLS Certification (AHA) required
  • PALS Certification (AHA) required

  • TNCC preferred
  • ENPC preferred
  • CEN preferred


Education Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing 24/7 operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care, staff development, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role collaborates closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to maintain patient satisfaction, optimize workflow, and support clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Emergency Department operations
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor staffing productivity and operational performance
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary committees
  • Support patient satisfaction and service excellence goals
  • Assist with budgeting, fiscal oversight, and resource management
  • Coordinate staff education and competency development
  • Monitor infection prevention and medication reconciliation compliance
