Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The RN will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department, evaluate patient outcomes, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and adjust care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This rural emergency department has 9 beds, handles 15,000+ patient visits annually, and is currently undergoing expansion. Candidates must be able to work effectively under pressure, quickly adapt to changing situations, and function as proactive members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN License or Compact RN License
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS
• TNCC Preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred or ability to learn quickly

Assignment Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Must be flexible to cover mid-shifts as needed
• Holiday coverage required
• Travelers start on Wednesdays
• During orientation week, travelers on a 48-hour contract are guaranteed only 36 hours due to the midweek start

• Rural location with no public transportation available.
• Closest airport is approximately 2 hours away.
• Credentialing documents must be completed and uploaded at least five business days prior to the start date. Delays may result in a postponed start date.
