The schedule for this position is M-F 40 hours a week (full time exempt position). You will be based from home with monthly on site meetings in Chandler with Team. In this role you will be the clinical voice and advocate for the patient-clinician-physician. You be the bridge between the caregiver and Supply Chain and objectively integrate all stakeholders input to make decisions that result in the best cost-quality and outcomes possible. To be successful in this role a nurse with Work experience on Med surg, ICU or WIS experience is highly preferred, with at least 3 years of managerial experience minimum of 5 years active bedside nursing .

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides system-wide leadership (both acute and non-acute) to drive supply chain cost reduction across the system assuring achievement of the Supply Chain Strategic Initiative goals. This position directs and leads the overall strategy, development and implementation of all clinical cost improvement plans for assigned service lines. This position provides system-wide leadership and direction to company facilities in the contracting, procurement, and use of supplies, products, services, and equipment for assigned service line. Leads multi-disciplinary teams, including physician value analysis teams, to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives. Responsible for clinical and related operational financial performance improvements and outcomes in the areas of Perioperative Services, Cardiology, Cardiac Cath/EP Lab, Women’s and Infant Services, Interventional Radiology and various procedural areas.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides system-wide leadership and consultation to company facilities in the contracting, procurement and the utilization of supplies, products, and equipment for assigned service line. Leads multi-disciplinary teams, including physician value analysis teams, to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives. Communicates with risk management on product recalls and FDA alert notices and acts as a resource for the medical staff, legal, and hospital departments as necessary.

2. Performs initial clinical assessments of new products and equipment to determine clinical efficacy and potential cost/benefit to company. Gathers product information and introduces targeted new products, services, and equipment to the Supply Formulary Executive Team. Directs the creation and implementation of the supply formulary in accordance with the supply formulary policy.

3. Provides technical and clinical skills, support and knowledge in the product selection process. Facilitates validation, evaluation and final recommendations by the System Standard Teams, physician value analysis teams, clinical discipline team, physician clinical consensus groups, and other clinicians and operations staff involved in the product selection process.

4. Promotes positive interpersonal connections with System leadership, employees and colleagues and other system leaders, physicians, patients, and customers. Promotes win-win negotiations with suppliers. Develops and maintains the general purchasing organization relationship and the vendor relationship in support of achieving quality, cost-effective solutions. In conjunction with business representatives and company staff, coordinates new product in-service education and clinical product validations and evaluations. Prepares, distributes, collects and tabulates product evaluation/validation forms and provides feedback to Supply Chain Management Board, System Standards Teams, physicians, and clinicians.

5. Works with group purchasing organization (GPO) to optimize contract value and contract compliance. Supports contract professionals in review and renewal of contracts to improve standardization, cost, and utilization. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare market by attending educational workshops/conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing a professional network, and participating in professional societies.

6. Works independently under limited supervision. Provides system wide leadership for product standardization and utilization of assigned product line. Examples of product line assignments include surgical services, catheterization laboratory, or respiratory care/ pediatrics/ med-surgical. Internal customers include other company staff, physicians, supervisors, managers, and executives. External customers include other company facilities, non-company facilities, and vendors. Has significant ability to reduce system costs.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a current RN license in the state of residence.

Requires Bachelor's degree in nursing, business, or a related field or equivalent experience. Requires substantial nursing experience in Medical/Surgical, Operating Room, Cath lab, Respiratory and/or Pediatrics, depending upon the assigned service line. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong business, presentation, analytical, planning, organizational, and financial skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once. Needs ability to handle critical issues and solve problems in a complex environment. Requires the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, as well as present findings and recommendations as needed to effectively direct and manage comprehensive plans.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Past successful experience in nursing leadership, economics, financial, and/or marketing fields.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
