Job Description

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, the PA will provide exceptional patient care in collaboration with leading surgeons, both in-person and via telehealth platforms. Responsibilities include conducting thorough surgical history/physical examinations, ordering and analyzing diagnostic tests, crafting individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications as authorized, and actively participating in surgical procedures.

The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in enhancing patient safety and fostering positive surgical outcomes through their expert technical abilities and close partnership with the surgical team. From pre-operative assessments to post-operative care, the PA will ensure a seamless continuity of patient care across various settings, encompassing inpatient rounding, consultations, wound management, bedside procedures, and outpatient clinic management.

Moreover, the PA will play a crucial role in patient and family education, participate in grand rounds, and collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, administration, and support staff to maintain the highest standards of surgical care. This position also entails on-call coverage, necessitating quick decision-making abilities during weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including assisting in surgeries.

The salary range for this role is competitive, with an estimated annual compensation between $124,284.36 - $161,569.66, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Degrees: Master's
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Physician Assistant NCCPA Certified
    • Physician Assistant Drug Enforcement Administration
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Completion of medical staff credentialing and privileges
    • Adherence to state requirements for Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Continuing Medical Education (CMEs), and licensure renewal
    • DEA License as required by the specialty
    • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program with at least one semester of surgical training
    • Demonstrated proficiency in surgical procedures and sterile techniques
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification specific to the specialty
    • National Certification in the field
