Administrative Director - Nursing ICU/PCU/Med-Surg

Job Description:
Reporting to the CNO, the Administrative Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing resources for the ICU, PCU and Med/Surg units.
These responsibilities include:
-Budget responsibility
-Efficient/effective resource utilization
-Recruitment and effective/efficient management of assigned staff
-Achieving quality outcomes
-Performance improvement; monitoring of quality and quantity of services
-Maintaining positive working relationships with staff and System departments and managers, and purchasing and maintaining equipment.

Required Skills & Experience:
1. ICU Oversight Experience
2. Previous leadership experience in an acute care hospital
3. ICU RN background preferred
4. Progressive care and Med Surg experience preferred
5. MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
6. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master Degree in Nursing, Business or Related Field
7. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in discipline or specialty.
8. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years progressively responsible management experience
9. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
10. PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Specialty or Administration certification desired.
11. REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.

2. ICU Experience is extremely crucial for this role (ICU nursing background and ICU oversight experience combined is ideal).
3. The candidate for this role will be in charge of inpatient services for the hospital, and they need to be a seasoned leader, but there will be no managers reporting to them due to the way the hospital is set up (not a typical director role)
4. Director will work in a 120 bed hospital in New Braunfels.
