Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Home Port job on Whidbey Island, Washington.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview:

  • Recognize emergencies and respond with appropriate protocol, e.g. resuscitation, oxygen, emergency drugs, cardiac massage, application of medical equipment and other, as established by the medical staff.

  • Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.

  • Assist in defining the patient population requiring professional nursing intervention and establishing guidelines to evaluate patients.

  • Work directly with selected patients and families to develop a nursing care plan. Collaborate with other health care disciplines to provide total quality patient care.

  • Function as care coordinator to assure all aspects of patient care needs are met, to include assessment, intervention, and follow-up.

  • Requisition and arrange for ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services as directed.

  • Administer immunizations, allergy treatments, oral, parenteral, and IV medications,

  • Administer specific medications at designated times and in designated manner.

  • Observe patients and report pertinent data on condition and medication or treatments.

  • Demonstrate proficiency according to operating manuals when using patient care electrical equipment.

  • Maintain required clinic records, patient charts, forms, logs, records, registers, census reports and collect required statistics.

  • Manage subpopulations such as hypertensive, diabetics, OB, etc.

  • Perform ambulatory care nursing functions as they pertain to patient counseling and patient administration.

  • Carry out patient referral management to specialty care; consult management and medical record management.

  • Provide training in wound care, intravenous placement and dressing changes.

  • Provide asthma education, diabetes education, and obstetric intake.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Qualifications:

  • BLS
  • RN Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license. Any U.S. state
  • 1 year with in the last 3 years as a RN experience
  • Associates Degree of Nursing

  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Position contingent on contract award with an anticipated Fall start date.
