Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) for night shift coverage. The RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by physicians and within the RN scope of practice.

Receive and deliver shift reports; communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to coordinate care.

Complete admission nursing assessments, assist with MDS assessments, quarterly reviews, and care plans.

Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation.

Supervise and assist subordinate staff with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility.

Participate in in-service training and staff development programs.

Utilize AMS (Arizona Management System) concepts and tools for problem-solving and process improvement.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of geriatric nursing theory, the aging process, and the changing needs of residents.

Understanding of team nursing, treatment planning, pharmacology, and federal/state regulations for nursing practice.

Ability to observe, assess, and document patient progress.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to build interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively.

Willingness to learn and implement AMS methods for continuous improvement.

Selective Preferences

Open to recent graduates and those with less than 1 year of skilled nursing or long-term care experience.

One or more years of skilled nursing facility or long-term care experience preferred.
