Start Date: Start date is typically within approximately 2 weeks after offer acceptance and completion of onboarding/credentialing requirements.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Experience in mother/baby care and newborn care preferred
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required
License & Certification Requirements
- Active Colorado RN License required (or obtainable upon acceptance)
- BLS required
- NRP required
- ACLS preferred
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) and Level 1 Nursery unit on a night shift contract assignment in Salida, Colorado. The RN will independently assess and care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns while collaborating with providers and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include patient monitoring during labor and delivery, postpartum care, breastfeeding support, newborn education, patient documentation, assisting physicians with procedures, and maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
- Monitor maternal and neonatal patient conditions
- Support breastfeeding education and infant care teaching
- Document patient care and education accurately in EMR
- Communicate patient status with physicians and nursing leadership
- Assist with emergency situations and procedures as needed
- Collaborate with nursery staff for mother/baby couplet care
- Maintain safe and organized patient care environment
Additional Information
- 6 pm to 6 am = 36 hours per week. Weekends required, holidays potentially required. Overtime optional.
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Facility will not accept 1099 candidates
- Overtime paid after 40 hours worked
