Job Type: Contract (Travel/Temporary)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)
Location: Colorado

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for women during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The ideal candidate will be skilled in maternal-child health, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages.
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor labor progression.
  • Assist with inductions, cesarean sections, and deliveries.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to emergencies.
  • Provide postpartum and newborn care, including patient and family education.
  • Prepare delivery rooms and maintain a safe, sterile environment.
  • Coordinate patient transfers and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and OB department protocols.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families during childbirth.

Requirements

License & Certifications

  • Active Colorado RN License (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
  • ACLS Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of employment)

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of nursing experience required
  • Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics experience required
  • 4+ years of Obstetric nursing experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursing care.
  • Experience with sterile techniques and infection prevention practices.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-stress and emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, stand, walk, and perform physical nursing duties for extended periods.

Work Environment

  • 36 hours per week, night shift.
  • May rotate units or shifts depending on census and staffing needs.
  • On-call coverage required.
  • Holiday coverage required.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases possible.
