Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (36 hours/week)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for women during labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. The ideal candidate will be skilled in maternal-child health, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor labor progression.
- Assist with inductions, cesarean sections, and deliveries.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to emergencies.
- Provide postpartum and newborn care, including patient and family education.
- Prepare delivery rooms and maintain a safe, sterile environment.
- Coordinate patient transfers and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Adhere to infection control policies and OB department protocols.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during childbirth.
Requirements
License & Certifications
- Active Colorado RN License (required)
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
- ACLS Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of employment)
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of nursing experience required
- Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics experience required
- 4+ years of Obstetric nursing experience preferred
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursing care.
- Experience with sterile techniques and infection prevention practices.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-stress and emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, stand, walk, and perform physical nursing duties for extended periods.
Work Environment
- 36 hours per week, night shift.
- May rotate units or shifts depending on census and staffing needs.
- On-call coverage required.
- Holiday coverage required.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases possible.
